Why Food Safety for hourly employees?

Consumer concern about the safety of food served in restaurants has risen as incidents of illness and death resulting from improper food handling have increasingly come to the public attention. With so many opportunities for foodborne illness to occur, restaurants and other establishments recognize the importance of everyone on staff following proper food handling procedures. But while management training in food safety is more often a standard requirement, consistent training in safe food handling for the hourly employee is not the national norm. Some states and counties require such training; many others do not.

Here at CourtesyTraining, we have developed an online course designed specifically for the hourly employee. It covers all the basics from hand washing to cleaning and sanitizing to temperature control, and includes games and activities to reinforce information. Delivered online through our Learning Management System, the course is available from any PC with internet access. Course progress and test results are tracked. 

The Food Safety course is ideal for states or counties mandating such training, but is also a great value for the individual operator seeking consistent, quality food safety training for their staff (currently available in English & Spanish).
