Does this course qualify the user for manager certification?

No, this course is designed specifically for the hourly employee. Although it conforms to the same standards set by the Conference for Food Protection that are required for Food Protection Manager Certification, the information is provided in a more concise format and covers the following topics:

Foodborne Illness
Personal Hygiene
Cleaning & Sanitizing
Time & Temperature Regulation
Serving, Cooling & Storage

Why would I need this training if we have a food safety trained manager and it isn’t mandated in my area for hourly employees?

Food safety and the risk of spreading a foodborne Illness is a significant issue for food service operators. It is critical to every operation that everyone on site knows and follows the correct food safety procedures.  It is the hourly employees who are most likely to be engaging in the types of activities that put your food and therefore your customers at risk. This online training and assessment helps to ensure that every team member understands the critical role they play in reducing the risk of spreading a foodborne illness at your location. 

How long is the course?

The course is approximately one hour long. However, you can go back and repeat sections that you might be unsure about before taking the assessment. You can also take only part of the course, discontinue and then go back and complete the course. The learning system will take you back to where you left off. 

Some of the people who need this training don’t read very well. Will the course go too fast for them?

No, the material is presented with full audio. Users have full control over how quickly they go through the material.
